Quickly Wolfram's Parzifal

Let's start with the classic story. Just to refresh your memory:

Gahmuret is of royal blood but second in line to rule so he goes on adventure to the far East. He helps African queen Belacane. Marries her, makes her pregnant but leaves before their son Feirefiz is born. The son is black and white like a magpie.

Back in the West he gets involved in a tournament where he wins the hand of queen Herzeloyde of Wales. He is kind of forced to marry her, lives a while happy together, makes her pregnant and leaves east again. He fights on heathen side and dies.

Parzifal is born. She does not want him to become like his father. She brings him up in total isolation. He does not know his name. One day he meets a knight. He thinks it's God.

The knight tells him about king Arthur and the round table. He wants to go. His mother can not stop him. Gives him some advise, dresses him up in a clown's suit and gives him a mule for a horse. He leaves and she instantly dies of sorrow without him noticing it.

On his way to Arthur he dishonors a girl on mothers advice and kills a red knight for armor and horse. He meets his cousin Sigune who tells him his identity.

After seeing Arthur he is trained by his uncle Gournemans. He has natural talent. Uncle tells him not to ask too many questions in life. He also meets his wife to be Conduir-amour. He gets restless and moves on after a while for adventure.

A fisherman leads him to a Castle where he witnesses a strange procession of beautiful guardian women and some objects: a sword, a bleeding lance and a grail which provides abundantly food and drinks. His host, King fisherman, gives him the sword but seems in bad shape. Parzifal thinks it is better to wait to ask any questions. That is a mistake. The man is cursed and just one simple question will salvation. Are You alright? The next day the castle is deserted. Too late to ask.

He returns to Arthur. Meets Sigune and becomes a wiser man. More adventures follow in search of the Grail. But the tracks are lost. Battles and stories about faith, destiny of men, love and betray and trust including adventures of friend Gawain are endless. Years pass by when he finds himself in a battle with a knight who is stronger than him. Just in time he realizes it is his own brother Feirefiz.

They join forces and get the Grail. At first Feirefiz can not see the thing but after a baptize he too is a Believer.

They all live happily after.

This is not Parzifal

So where is that Grail now i greedily thought beginning of this winter and left the house to have a look. Cash is running out and the possession of an eternal food and drinks provider to feed the family seems ideal. What happened to that thing and what kind of device is it anyway? I get curious, you see? It is a serious joke really.

The way I see that magic cup eventually ending up in my kitchen cupboard is following: Parzifal the restless punk got fed up sitting around the happily spinning and knitting wife Conduir-amour and took off again. But where to go this time? Mother dead, grail found. He had been riding around for years with a mission. He needed a new one but there was none available. Tempted to go and do some crusading and blood shedding near the Holy Land he was not. After all his father died on other side. He got some extra weight eating from the ever providing grail which made wearing the armor a pain anyway. Getting older makes you want to stretch the leg a little. So a boat trip seems the perfect choice. A cruise instead of crusade. And with these Norwegian savages around all the time along the European coast it was an easy thing for a chosen one to get a vessel. Fat or not his sword still worked divine. It goes all in circles.

Yes, he was predestined by God himself. This has to do with his ancestors. I believe that he was the direct descendant of Jesus Christ. Hear me out: When Jesus died his girlfriend Maria Magdalena was pregnant. It is no secret that the couple Peter and Paul did not like her very much although according to the books she was the one to inherit the whole lot. Maria M had to protect the fruit she carried and exiled and decided to life like a goddess in France. She did not take much along. Some extra clothes, cutlery and pots and pans to cook in. The Grail was amongst them. It did not have the gift yet.

And then it came to him! Traveling south or east would bring him in heathen zones and trouble with boring fights. Since he got that sword the fun of killing left him. They knew already in his time there was nothing to do in the west so it was going to be north. He remembered his colleague knight and dear friend Gawain being son of a Norwegian king ! A family visit would be in place. He really loved the idea of not getting into any heavy metal that way either. A thick coat would be enough. So he got himself some Vikings to row. The gulf stream helped cutting down the amount of energy needed and before he knew he set foot in what the locals called the settlement of seven mountains. He had taken sword and horn with him but kept it hidden for his fellow travelers.

She was a smart and colorful woman. She disliked this attitude of good (us) versus bad (them) that duo was so much into but would not go against it. She knew her boyfriend and had seen the dark moon there as well. Only too human. Because she was fed up getting mixed up with her boyfriend's mother all the time she nicknamed herself: Sufi. Her weakness was her uncondemning character. She was just too sweet to be true and her looks did not help nor her long legs. The azurian village she settled would never be the same.

Keeping his belongings hidden on the tiny but overcrowded boat was easy. It did not get any notice between other plundered loot. On land however he had to find a good location to put it. Would be silly to walk around with it. On one of his walks inland not far from Paradise and on the turnoff to Helldal he saw this threefold tree and...

Now i know what you did with it, you fool! Why on earth did you put it there? What was wrong with you, Parzifal? You were in a dip? Zombie! Now get it out and start sharing!

This version is so stupid and cynical and not at all the Parzifal i want to see. The pictures tell a totally different story. This is just words.
